Wow, what a difference 24 hours can make. Compare the picture in this post to the pictures from yesterdays post. It looks like a different golf course out there today. Most of the snow has melted. There are pockets of snow lingering around the property, mostly in shaded areas and small amounts on 6 or 8 of the greens. The big story is just how wet it is. Between the thunderstorm late this morning, the snow melt, and the thawed ground, it is soft to say the least.
The big question is will the golf course open this weekend. Well, it is hard to say. At this point, to be completely candid, I doubt it. I imagine the remaining snow will probably melt but it is just too wet. Of course, we will check the course both Saturday and Sunday mornings and make the final determination based upon the observed conditions at that time. As always, we will update the information line and this blog with the final decision but, as of now, I wouldn't say it is looking very promising.
