Your 16th fairway will open for play on Friday, May 1.
The sod has rooted down and is growing well. To my eye, it appears very healthy and the drainage problems of the past seem to have been resolved. There is still some minor scalping but that is completely normal and to be expected on a young fairway.
Scalping, or a scalp, is simply turfgrass that was cut too short and much or all of the green leaf tissue has been removed. It is very common during/after a renovation as the soil settles and the turfgrass is mowed down to it's final height of cut. I expect that over the next few weeks those areas will begin to fade and eventually disappear. (The scalped turf I am referring to are the off-colored yellow or tan areas visible in the images below).
Bottom line - your new fairway is still very young and needs some time to "mature" but it is healthy and there is no reason to delay opening any longer... #16 is ready for golf.
Please note - All golf carts will be restricted to the cart path only for the foreseeable future.
