COURSE CONDITIONS - 3/20/15

Your golf course was almost dry and beginning to firm up...that is, until today. Now, thanks to the snow and rain, it is sloppy wet again. As you will see in the images below, the snow is not much of an issue. Actually, as I sit to write this, most of the snow has already melted. Unfortunately, the puddles are not as quick to disappear. It seems to have stopped raining now so I am very optimistic about opening the golf course tomorrow for the "Ice Breaker", the first A-team match, and the rest of those wishing to play some early spring golf.

It will certainly still be wet and soft but I am hopeful that the greens will have drained and no standing water will remain on the putting surfaces. As always, the final decision will be made in the morning. Updated information can be found on this blog in the "Quick Update" and on the information line at 703-631-9560 option 5.

In other news, the tee markers are back from the paint shop. As you may remember, the "new in spring 2014" tee markers were removed from the course in early winter. The paint had failed prematurely and rust was beginning to form. The manufacturer agreed that there was a problem and repainted them for us. They are now back on the course.

We took the opportunity to make a couple of changes to the colors on the forward set of tee markers. The forward tee marker is no longer the hard to see silver but is now a bright yellow. Additionally, the forward/ladies combo tee is now marked with a light blue marker. All others remain the same as before.
