The golf course will open tomorrow, Saturday, January 17 with one or two temporary greens . We will have a 10 am shotgun start pending a frost delay or inclement weather.
A lot of snow has melted since my last post yesterday afternoon but there are still some isolated areas of snow/ice. Most is in the shaded areas and north facing slopes in the fairway and roughs. Many of the bunkers have some too. But, with the exception of #8, the greens are clear. #8 will be played as a temporary green but I expect the rest will be playable. There are several greens that currently have standing water and I am hopeful that they will drain before the re-freeze tonight. There is a small chance that one or two additional greens, due to frozen puddles, may require that they are played as temporary. I hope not, but we are at the mercy of the weather as usual. As always, the course conditions will be reevaluated and the update will be posted on this blog and the course information line (703-631-9563 option 3) tomorrow morning with the final determination for the day.
