COURSE CONDITIONS - 3/12/15

The good news is the snow is almost gone. As I look at the extended weather forecast, I am hopeful that we have seen the last of it for this winter. As you will see in the images below, there are a few patches of lingering snow, mostly in shaded areas and in the bunkers. I feel confident it will melt in a few days.

The bad news is that the course is now very wet. So wet that there is standing water on many of the greens and nearly all of the playing surfaces are unstable underfoot. Between the melting snow, the rain (.5" fell yesterday), and the thawing ground, your golf course is soggy to say the least.

With more rain on the way Saturday (up to .25"), the chances of the golf course drying down quickly does not seem very high.

Our goal is to open the golf course as soon as possible, but only once the conditions are such that the golf course will not be damaged by doing so. As always, that decision will be made daily and the results will be posted on this blog in the upper right hand corner in the "Golf Course - Quick Update" and on the course information line at 703-631-9560 option 5.
