COURSE CONDITIONS UPDATE - SUMMER THUNDERSTORM 6/21/16

A very fast moving but powerful thunderstorm passed over your golf course yesterday afternoon. 1.1" of rain fell in just a few minutes. The course was in need of some rain and the excess moisture was absorbed very quickly.  The damage came from high wind.  I do not have details on the exact wind speeds but as you will see in the images below it must have been significant.  Several trees were completely blown over and several more were damaged. The biggest challenge was all the leaves and small sticks that were scattered over your golf course.  Additionally, many of the bunkers were washed out from the rain.

Your golf course maintenance staff deserve credit for their quick work of returning the golf course to playable condition.  Tee times were delayed this morning until 10:30 am but all of the debris (except for a few of the large trees in out of play areas) has been removed from the primary playing surfaces and all of the bunker washouts have been repaired.

It will likely take us several more days to get all of the damaged trees removed or pruned.

Let's hope the storms in tomorrows forecast are a bit more mild...
