GOLF COURSE AERIFICATION - MARCH 29 & 30

As is the norm for golf courses everywhere, we will be aerifying your golf course this spring. What is new for Chantilly this year is a slight change in the schedule. In the past the aerification process was spread over 2 or more weeks with a hole or green (or more) closed at a time. This year we will be compressing the operation to two days and closing the golf course while the work in underway.

The goal is to minimize, as much as possible, the impact to our members and their guest and "knock out" this much needed maintenance practice in just a couple of days.

The golf course will be closed all day on Wednesday, March 29th and will open with late tee times on Thursday, March 30th. While we are closed a contractor will be on site with 4 tractor mounted aerifiers and several other machines used to clean up the debris. Their job will be to aerify all of the tees and fairways. A few of our people and machinery will also be used to help in the cleanup process and sand topdressing application. Simultaneously, our crew will aerify and topdress the greens.

It will be an exciting couple of days with a flurry of activity but, if all goes as planned (and the weather cooperates), the greens, tees, and fairways will all be aerified by the time the sun sets on Thursday afternoon. The roughs will still need some attention over the following days but the primary playing surfaces will be done and the healing process can begin.
