PROJECT UPDATE - 6/9/14

The sod on #16 is looking great.  It was all installed about 10 day ago and is rooting down nicely.  Your fairways are mowed at .400" but the sod was delivered to us at .750".  So, over the next few weeks, now that the sod has had a chance to initiate rooting, we will begin to slowly step the height of cut (HOC) down to the desired .400". It will take multiple steps and will likely look a bit discolored and thin at times as the HOC is lowered...this is normal and to be expected. Just give us a few weeks to transition the HOC and the turf to fill in and continue rooting before it will be ready to handle cart traffic once again.

Also, we had some extra sod so we went ahead and sodded the drop area at #12, a few wet areas at the beginning of #17 fairway and the back edge of the smaller range tee.

The concrete tee stations were installed last week.  The contractor has one more day of work to finish cleaning and sealing but several of the stations have been completed.  We will install the ball washers, trash can, and other items this week on the completed concrete pads.  The signs have been shipped and will be installed as soon as they arrive (any day now).  We also plan to do some grading and mulching or sod installation around the concrete pads.  It will likely take us a couple of weeks to finalize all of them.

Another small project we have been working on is the old granite yardage markers on the tees and fairways. Over the years they have become uneven or sunken in spots and the paint has worn away.  We have leveled and edged all of them and we are in the process of repainting the numbers.   The tees have been completed and the fairways will be painted this week.
